Geek Squad Usb Flash Drive By Stephanie Mas on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
I don't have kids of my own but my husband I have a two year old niece and a five year old nephew. Because of this, we always make sure we have the digital camera when we see them. We see them about two or three times a week so you can imagine that I take a lot of pictures. I learned a long time ago that when I download my pictures onto my laptop or my desktop computer it usually eats my memory. It used to be that I would often find myself deleting pictures that I clearly wanted to keep but I needed the memory. After shopping at Best Buy last month, I decided I would put all of my pictures and other important files on a USB Flash Drive. My husband I talked to the sales person at Best Buy and he recommended their brand of USB Drive by Geek Squad. This drive that I got is a 2GB of memory. It will hold approximately 300 to 400 pictures which is great for us.
The minimum system requirements are Windows/ Macintosh with USB port, Windows 2000, ME, XP, Windows Vista, MAC OS 9.1 .xt, and OSX v10.1.2. It does require 2.0 port for high-speed transfer and U3 applications will only run on Windows 2000 (SP4 and up), Windows XP, and Windows Vista.
If you purchase the warranty (which I did not) then you can use the special Geek Squad assistance for any troubleshooting or replacement.
I run this on my Windows Vista and I have not had any issues or problem. The best part is that it holds all of my precious pictures without me having to delete others.
