Generic Icy Hot Burns By kaylala024 on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

I recently found out that I have poor circulation, so, I went to CVS and bought their generic version of ICY HOT. Regardless of the instructions telling me to "APPLY A GENEROUS AMOUNT" I had never used icy hot before so I only put a very thin layer on my skin, all over my legs.

Two minutes later, i BURNED so badly that it felt like someone was boiling both of my legs in hot water. I had leaned over to look at how my legs were turning all bright neon red, and some of the icy hot got on my stomach when I leaned over and turned my stomach BRIGHT NEON RED.

I washed the icy hot off with cool mildly soapy water but my skin continued to burn for two hours.

I thought I was safe buying the generic brand, it has the EXACT same ingrediants, but I guess not. It could be something wrong with me, but I'm not about to use it again and find out.

Thanks for the warning. I will think about this before I buy it.

Yikes, that's scary that this product burned you, I think I'd put a call in to their customer service line to let them know.
