Gently cover the gray

I have dark brown hair, so when the gray hairs started showing up a few years ago, it wasn't hard to notice them against the dark background of the rest of my hair. I didn't want to use permanent color, because I have always thought it was too harsh and would damage my hair.When I started checking out what was available as an alternative, I found Clairol's Natural Instincts and have used it ever since.I have been very satisfied with the gray coverage and the way my hair feels after using it. Natural Instincts is a gentle dye that uses no ammonia and low amounts of peroxide.It lasts through approximately 28 shampoos.The formula has a blend of plant-based conditioners of aloe, chamomile and ginseng to actually nourish my hair.I can actually feel the difference after using this product.

As with any hair color, before you use this product, you should do an allergy test and strand test to determine the optimal coloring time.The instructions provided clearly tell you how to do this.This should be done at least 48 hours in advance.If there is no reaction after that amount of time, it is safe to use the coloring.

There are three easy steps to either do an all over color or just a touch up if you want to use it every 1-2 months.You simply dampen your hair, pour the color into the developing lotion bottle, shake until mixed and apply to the hair.Leave on for 10 minutes or the time indicated by the strand test.Rinse and apply the provided deep conditioning treatment.Wait two minutes and rinse thoroughly with warm water. You should wait at least 24 hours before shampooing your hair again, to avoid color loss.There is enough conditioner provided to use on your next weeks shampooing to continue to deep condition.

Another reason I like Natural Instincts, is that the scent is nice and not strong and awful smelling like some permanent coloring.
