Geo Trax Rail System

My son became addicted to trains shortly before his second birthday. I wanted to purchase a train set that would last for a while and would be easy to assemble and easy for HIM to use.
We purchased the first set of Geo Trax for his birthday and he LOVES it! The track is easy enough for him to put together himself and it STAYS together unlike some of the wooden sets I have seen. The track snap together with ease and can be set up in MULTIPLE configurations. We have set up the track in a different configuration every time we set it up! Younger children will need help creating layouts and making tracks meet back up, but setup takes little to NO time at all!
One of my favorite things about the Geo Trax rails is that ALL the sets work together, so we can coninue to add more and more and don't have to worry about certain parts not working with the current sets we own.
My ONLY negative comment about the Geo Trax system is the battery life for the remote control trains. You can expect to replace the batteries about every two weeks with the constant use of the trains. There are push trains that are also available, which my son, now 2.5, tends to use more than the remote trains.
All in all, this is a GREAT set for your little engineer and will grow with them!! Even dad's love to get in on the fun!
Geo Trax are great. My son used to have a few sets, he has long out grown them now though.
My son was really into Thomas and we bought him tons of stuff. That year for Christmas "Santa" thought the next step for that would be to start getting him the geo tracks sets so he could drive them around and do all the cool stuff the wooden Thomas's could not. He did play with it but did not enjoy it like we had planned. I was really sad because I had train sets as a kid and thought they were the bomb. I think I played with ours more than he did.
I like the fact that you can add on to the set and make it as big as you want!

Love trains! This looks like a great system for the little engineer.
The fact that the sets are interchangeable is great. The battery time is not the best so I would probably buy rechargeable batteries for this one.

This sounds like a really good train set for children. Too bad the batteries don't last longer than they do.
My kids loved the geotrax. I swear we had every piece they made. They would sit and play with it for hours!!!!
