Gerber Wagon Wheels
By houdini16409 onMy daughter is over the year old mark but since she has been slow to getting teach and learning how to chew she is still in transition mode from bottle to real food. We have tried a lot of the Gerber transitional products but we have found that the Wagon Wheels work the best for her because they dissolve quickly and they are easy for her to grasp.
They only come in two flavors, apple and carrot. My daughter loves her vegetables so we opted to initially try the carrot flavor. She absolutely loves them. After mealtimes she gets one for a snack. The best thing for me that I like about them is that they are healthy and I do not have to worry about her choking on them, which is a big concern for me.
They are not terribly expensive. One container of wagon wheels costs me around $2, and it lasts for about 10 days. They do not have a foul smell, as most baby foods do. I highly recommend Wagon Wheels for any child who is learning how to eat solid foods. It is a great training food during the transition and it is good for them!

I have seen these in the grocery store but never used them. I'm glad they worked out for you!
wow....made from carrots ...Carrots are great and nutritious for the little ones,
Glad to hear your daughter likes these, neither of my daughter liked them, haven't tried them with my son yet.
I have heard of these, but they weren't around when my kids were little, great that they come in a vegetable and a fruit flavor.
This is a great beginner food, a little messy, but what isn't when kids are involved!
I'm always amazed that kids like carrots baby food. I love carrots but can't imagine eating them as other than as a solid crunchy stick. Does she like the apple too? You should write to the company and request more flavors - who knows, it might work!
These sound like a really good option, nutritionally, and I think from what you say they can also feed themselves, which is also a plus.
I am going to be looking into this type food before to long. Thank you for sharing.
