Gift For A Francophile By RachelReviews on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
My, how time flies! I bought this set in late 2007 for my mom, who is a big Francophile. She thought they were adorable. She loved the French terms with the English translations under them.
I picked these in particular because she loves animals. Also, she moved to a bucolic area, so I thought picking "farm", was a good choice. These are 2 1/2 inches across. The illustrations used are from a 1960s French vocabulary book. That's pretty neat. I think it's cool that the shop owner sought out the graphics from such a book from that time period. This makes for a more uncommon type of gift.
I did an experiment to test how powerful the magnets were. One magnet was able to hold a maximum of 6 sheets of paper (Staples Multi-Use 8.5x11 Paper) at once. The magnet started to slide down my refrigerator once I added another sheet (A total of 7). I deduced that these are pretty strong magnets.
I love Etsy. You can find some interesting, great stuff on there. I bought these at this store on the site: link. For more information, the seller has a blog at: link.
