Gillette Venus Breeze Razor

I like the regular Gillette Venus razors very much, so I thought I would try the new Venus Breeze. What makes the Venus Breeze different from the original Venus is the addition of "gel bars", which are meant to lubricate your legs and eliminate the need for shaving cream.

I loved the idea of not having to use shaving cream, and had the idea that the Venus Breeze would be very handy and easy to use in the shower. What a waste of money! The gel bars make it hard for the actual blade to come in contact with your skin, so you don't get a close shave at all.... you even end up with razor burn, something that never happens with the original Gillette Venus! When the gel from the Venus Breeze comes off on your legs, it is goopy and messy, and does not seem to do a very good job of lubricating the hairs and skin in preperation for a shave. These bars last for MAYBE three shaves - that is, if they don't fall off first! And the replacement gel bars are so expensive that it would be rather expensive to use this razor on a regular basis. I won't buy this product again, and I do not recommend it to anyone!
