Girl - DVD review

Dominique Swain stars as the main character in this coming of age tale. Swain plays an ivy league college bound honor student who is discovering herself during her senior year and last summer before college. She learns of a band called "The Color Green" and becomes infatuated with the lead singer, Todd Sparrow (played by Sean Patrick Flanery). Also appearing in this movie Tara Reid as a fellow student and female rock singer.

One thing I really like about this movie is the juxtoposition of what Swain says and what she thinks. This is obvious because everything she thinks is narrated in the movie, and it is not confusing what is really said. I also really enjoy the music of the band "The Color Green". I believe it is performed by the director Jonathan Kahn, who then went on to create more music with the band. This is just a great movie about teenagers and how their lives change as they move on to adulthood.
