Gnc Fish Oil Supplement By MisterBisco on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

After hearing about the wonders of fish oil supplements for years, I decided to try some. I picked up the GNC "Fish Body Oils 1000" brand.

The pills are gel-tabs, which certainly make them easier to ingest. They are on the large size, to be sure, but the gel coating makes them far easier to swallow than a standard tablet of the same size. Additionally, I had heard rumors of fish oil pills having a distinct "fishy" smell, and while there is a faint "medicine" scent to the GNC brand, I don't get a fishy whiff at all.

As far as taking them, while they are "1000 mg" of fish oils, they actually contain much smaller amounts of EPA and DHA, the essential elements of the fish oil. As such, I take 2-4 of these pills a day, in order to reach the level of 500-1000mg of each element.

I've not noticed dramatic effects with these supplements. I don't feel especially different, and they can often leave a sour aftertaste in my mouth. I stopped taking them for awhile, and I only just restarted, so if I notice differences, I will amend this review.
