Growing up as a child in the sixties and seventies, I used to look forward to watching the Speed Racer cartoon Saturday mornings. I have to admit-I had a big crush on Mr. Speed Racer! Imagine how happy I was to see that Speed Racer has now been turned into a box office movie!
What usually goes hand in hand with potential blockbuster movies? The sale of action figures and items related to the movies! Speed Racer was no exception!
While shopping at Target for my son's upcoming birthday, I went to the toy cars aisle and Speed Racer action figures & cars stared directly at me. It was hard to choose only one car but I decided on Speed Racer's shiny white Mach 5 car. This is not your ordinary Hot Wheels car-I like to call this an "interactive" car!! When you put the car on a race track or on the floor, you then pull the car back, release it and the car flings on the track/floor and makes a "vroom" sound! It caught me off guard when I tried this at Target because it flew across the aisle at lightning speed!
We plan on adding to the Pullbax cars as they have a total of five in the series! I think any Speed Racer fan will enjoy playing with these!

They still make Hot Wheels? Wow I remember them as very durable toys. :)
My boys-in their teens now, love Hotwheels cars still! My oldest is turning his into a collectible hobby. These sound like a great addition to the collection.
I watched Speed Racer as a child, mostly because my brother loved it.
Those little friction motor cars are super! Who doesn't have some Hotwheels around the house!?
While I did like Speed Racer, I did not have a crush on him.... Does your hubby know about this? ;-)
Love the pullback cars. The Mach 5 is THE one to get if you don't get any of the others.
