When my brother and his wife were together we received a number of gorgeous gifts over the years including this incredible decanter with glasses. This set consists of an "I dream of Jeannie" style decanter with the large bottom and slender neck adorned by a glass stopper. The decanter has two tall ships one on either side of it which is 24 kt gold etching. The glass is partially etched to give it sort of a sandblasted effect and to add additional character to the decanter.

The glasses, there are 5, each have a beautiful gold tall ship adorning them on etched glass as well. The decanter stands about 14 inches tall while each glass is only about 3 inches tall and round in shape.

I've not used this decanter for anything and the glasses have been used perhaps 3 or 4 times total. This set is just too beautiful to use (yes, there is a pattern in my thinking).

I have no idea what the cost of the beautiful decanter set was originally but knowing my brother and his ex-wife, I can imagine that this set was not without a pretty hefty price tag.

This set sits (you guessed it) in my china cabinet and it is another very prized possession that I cherish and love the look of. It doesn't really have a practical purpose in my mind but as a decor item it definitely has appeal to any one who loves the look and the romance of tall ships.
