The book Push has been made into the movie Precious, and as a book is it emotionally moving. It is inspiring to see

a young woman live the corrupt environment she grew up in and venture for herself to give herself and her a baby a

chance at a better life. Although the book itself is graphic, the meaning behind it is solid.

Do not want to spoil the plot but the book features a young black woman having to make life altering decisions that will change her life, and even though she meets a lot of obstacles along the way she learns to overcome them.

The author Sapphire does a good job in her style of laying the book, although at the times the words are at times hard to make out, because it is in the point of view of a illiterate young girl, but it is easily guessable in context.

With the movie coming out soon, it is interesting to see how the life of Precious Jones is displayed in a movie versus her image that you see and start to visualize from reading the book.
