Good, But Not The Color I Wanted By Lorianna on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

I have been searching for a lavender-colored nail polish forever; I love lavender, I think it would look great on my nails, and I have several outfits that would go nicely with it. However, the color does not seem to be popular with nail polish manufacturers. When I saw Lavender Marquis by Sally Hansen, I thought I had finally found what I wanted: in the bottle, the nail polish looked pleasant light lavender. Sally Hansen Diamond Strength is one of my favorite brands, too, so I bought it.

While the nail polish is very good (goes on smoothly, lasts long, and does not chip or peel), the color turned out to be a disappointment. It is not lavender on my nails, it is pink. The first coat looked so pale pink that I doubted it was going to work at all. I applied two more coats, and the color became more intense, but still far from what I wanted.

I don't mind the color too much, and I will certainly use up the bottle. I like the quality, too; as I mentioned, it lasts very well - I can easily go for 10-12 days, and my manicure looks great. However, my search for lavender nail color continues.
