Good Desktop Alternative

I own this Toshibamodel laptop for more than two years now and I can really say, I already had proven it's durability and stability.My laptop is plugged and used almost 24/7 yet I haven't had any problem encountered so far except for some errors on the keyboard key, but maybe it was just on this particular unit. It comes with a DVD writer, wireless ready, a dedicated media player button for ease control in playing your music or video without using your mouse or keyboard to control. DVD writing speed varies depending on the indicated writing speed of the used media. I like the nice black - silver combination built of this notebook and it comes with 3 USB 2.0 slot (two on the left side and one at the back). It also has a VGA slot which is use to plug-in on an LCD projector or into another monitor. Music and microphone output are of course, present. The bad side of this model is the lack some basic connectivity/communication tools like webcam, blue tooth, card reader or even infrared capability is missing. This is model is good desktop alternative for home or office. The Intel celeron processor, 512 memory was fair enough for my home computer needs. Though it's WiFi ready, for me, I would stillnot recommended this one for mobile people because of the short battery life (1 hour at least) plus 2.7 kg weight is a bit heavy to carry.

The keyboard very small and short battery-life
I haven't used Toshiba laptop .It sounds like a good brand and not very expensive.
I am hunting for a laptop to replace my bulky desktop, but two issues, 512 what gigs megs or is that completely unrelated, you also failed to mention the RAM
Nowadays I,m using my hubby's laptop,compaq.Previously I have used Acer's Traveler Mate2414nlci .I found Compaq a much better laptop than Acer.So Compaq is a value for money product .Though never knew/havenot heard of this brand into making notebooks or laptops.glad you have a good experience it does sound good.Mayb I can add this name also when checking out laptops for me.thanks for the info!!
