Right now my daughter is 6 months old. She is now in the stage of touching! She loves to see how different objects feel. She will sit around and scratch at jeans, toys, blankets, and pillows all day. I love that she is getting old enough to explore so I decided to buy her one of the touch and feel board books.

I love the board books because I don't have to worry about her tearing out the pages or eating them. Yes, she would eat them! I had seen the touch books in the past and loved how they showed different animals and their "fur". I thought it would be great to introduce my daughter to these books at a young age so she is able to not only recognize an animal, but also recognize how each one feels differently.

The illustrations in this book are by Melanie Mitchell and it was published by Piggy Toes Press. The book is 6" x 6".

This book is great for a bedtime routine. The books cover is a sheep and each animal has a small place on them where a baby can feel of the animals fur. The story in the book is telling each animal goodnight and it shows them sleeping. It has sheep, a cat, a dog, rabbits, a chick, and on the last page it shows a little girl in bed with a little cloth that you can use to cover her up. The illustrations are beautiful.

Of course right now my daughter doesn't understand the story but she loves to sit and feel of the pages. I plan to get more of these in the future. I really recommend these books! It is so much fun to sit and watch your child discover the differences on each page.

when my son was an infant we had books like these. I think we may even had this book! My son loved touching it also. I love the feelily type books for babies/toddlers.

I love feel and touch books. We had a few when my kids were little and they loved them. For little ones who can't read yet it's a great way to bring them into the book.

Keep ready to your baby. She may understand more than you know. And the touchy-feely part is really cool!

What a sweet book! I had a board book similar to this when I was a kid (long long ago) and my mom still has it. It was one of my favorite since I was (and still am a texture) a texture person. I'm sure your daughter will treasure it for many years!
