Good Value Utility Pool Pump By BillF on - Updated Sep 18, 2011

I tried emptying my pool manualy or with a 1/3 hp pump and it just took way too long. I then tried annually renting a pump to drain 11,000 gallon pool. I decided this year to look into buying a pump since I do not plan on opening the pool but do not want a large misquito breading ground in my back yard. The wagner save ~$70 per year and have option to use more often than annualy. I checked online home depot and the Honda pump I usually rent was $600 so this Wagner looked like a better value. Wagner is a long established pump company so I decided to give it a try. Home depot misspacked the first pump and a number of plastic parts where broken but Home Depot stood behind there sales and quickly shipped a replacement pump. The pump has a Briggs & Stratton engine and most other design features similiar to the mch more expensive Honda pump. The one advantage the Honda has is a out take pipe. Both pumps can empty my pool easily in under 2 hours. will report back if it does not last at least five years.

Update Posted on :

I have a major typo it is Wayne not Wagner on pool pump
