Gp 300m Ah Aaa Review By lordofdarkness66 on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
I discovered that GP, from the small print on the battery, stands for Gold Peak. It is a Hong Kong based Chinese company that specializes in the manufacture of cheap batteries and battery charger. And I do mean cheap. A packet of 2 300mAh AAA rechargeable batteries by GP costs only $2.50. The rechargeable batteries produced by GP generally costs between $2.50 to $6.00. The cheapest rechargeable battery issued by another brand costs about $15. So normally consumers, such as myself, would immediately go for a cheap option such as this. Especially with the high cost of conventional batteries and the eco-friendly nature of rechargeable batteries, many would like to buy a GP battery. Let me describe my experience when I bought this battery for my MP3 player. True to the 'it can last more than 1000' cycles tagline, my batteries haven't lost their original capacity yet. But the original capacity itself is something to talk about. mAh stands for miliamperes per hour. The higher the mAh numericals, the higher the output capacity and the longer it lasts. A 300mAh battery can last for only 3 hours on my MP3 player. A more expensive rechargeable battery is 3000mAh. Thats ten times more power with the same amount of cycles as this battery. So in the long run, the more expensive battery has a longer lifespan and will probably save the consumer money. However, if you just want a battery thats cheap and useful for a short period of time, this battery is for you.
