Grace of my Heart: Movie Soundtrack

The music on this soundtrack is from the movie Grace of My Heart which was unofficially and very loosely based on the life of singer/songwriter Carole King. I caught this movie on Dish TV and was so taken in by the music I immediately signed on to Amazon.com and purchased the soundtrack. The music on this CD is so familiar and yet so totally new. All the songs were written for the movie. So, they are all new songs written to replicate the musical styles of the 1960's. In other words, they are new songs written to sound old. Grace of My Heart features hauntingly familiar music which will take you, if you were raised in the 60's or early 70's, on a roller coaster ride of memories and yet, you probably have never heard any of the songs on the CD.
Sung by Burt Bacharach, Elvis Costello and Kristen Vigard, among others, songs like God Give Me Strength and Man from Mars will have you either lost in Bittersweet emotion or wiping tears from your eyes. And with song writers like Costello, Joni Mitchell and Bacharach you just can't go wrong.
Other songs include Take a Run at the Sun which is reminiscent of Beach Boys style and Groovin' On You which is a psychedelic, punky, pop song that is quite catchy. Love Doesn't Ever Fail Us is a beautiful and yet melancholy song of heartbreak and hope. The sentimental and inspiring A Boat on the Sea is a story of survival and personal strength.
If you loved the music styles of the 1960's and early 70's you will enjoy this soundtrack. I found mine on Amazon.com. And as always I was completely satisfied with the price, the shipping time and the sound quality of the CD itself, even though it was a used one. I highly recommend this soundtrack (and buying it on Amazon.com)
