Graceland: Elvis Presley's Living Monument
By Eggy onElvis Presley's Graceland Estate is one of the 'Must Visit' places in the United States. It is a living memorial to the "King of Rock and Roll'.
.
Although he was born in Tupelo Mississippi, Elvis and his family moved to Memphis, Tennessee when he was 13 years old.Elvis bought Graceland when he was 22 years-old (in 1957)for $100,000.
.
The Elvis Automobile Museum, his private airplanes, several special exhibit halls, along with the ticket office and secure parking are in the visitor's center across the street from the 13.8 acre estate and mansion. When you buy your tickets you are given a time to board a shuttle bus and take the self-guided audio tour. The audio tour is very good and it allows you to go at your own pace and repeat portions if desired.
.
The mansion itself is not really very large, and the upstairs is not available to tour, but the exhibits, grounds, and grave make for a very interesting experience.Although I really was never a big Elvis fan, I found my visit to Graceland very informative and enjoyable.
.
There are several ticket packages available. The full adult price for the intermediate (Platinum) package is about $34.There are a variety of discounts available (Seniors, students, youth, military, AAA). Children under 6 are free.

I want to take my husband here someday! Thanks for the review!
I use to live in Memphis, and have been there many times.
Its seems to me a place to explore. I love go out and explore new places. The pictures you added makes the review more supportive and gave us clear view of destination. Its nice to see about people with big image's lifestyle. Elvis has been a big name.
I have always wanted to visit Graceland, but it's sad that you can't tour the upstairs. Great review!
My daughter has gone there many times~ and always wants to go back~
