Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort and Spa

First off I want to say that I used to work at this hotel. I was actually there for almost 10 years when I decided to leave and take care of my boys full time. That being said, I have stayed there many times and a couple other Hyatts around the states as well. This hotel is one of the most beautiful hotels I have ever seen. The pool is to die for and is so spread out, that you don't ever feel like a sardine. The views are magical and the ambiance is fabulous. I live on this Island and feel like they do a fantastic job at creating the Aloha spirit (For Real). I have yet to stay at or even see a hotel that could rival it. The rooms are very nice, but really who wants to be in the room when your in Hawaii. They have a great Camp Hyatt program for kids there as well, which occupies the kids with so many different activities they wont even miss you when you go on your Helicopter ride with no doors to secret waterfalls and a picnic lunch. They have a meandering pool with a great slide and a seperate salt water lagoon where you can get kayaks and cruise around. The Dining is fabulous and Locals go to Tidepools for special Occasions often. Tidepools is surrounded by water and waterfalls with thatched huts for dining. And to top it off the tidepools are filled with Koi fish. If you are good they will even give you a cup of fish food so you can stare in awe as hundreds of fish scramble to eat the pellets. Kids LOVE it. It is such a family friendly resort. I know that while I was working there, we had people that came every single year with their families as if it was their second home. The only thing I would say is that it is a bit pricey, but worth it.
