This camera is a great point-and-shoot choice. It's very compact (easily fits in a pocket) and takes great stills AND video! Resolution on both is impressive. Compared to earlier models, size and battery life are vast improvements. I recently took the camera on a European vacation (see attached photos!) and was able to take 100 shots in a day without running out of juice. It doesn't do a great job at night or in dim light, but it's as good as any point-and-shoot in that regard. Shots during the day are clear and bright and 3x optical zoom is strong for this size of camera. I definitely recommend this for any casual photographer or someone more advanced who wants a lightweight, bring-out-with-you-whenever camera.
