Great Entry Level Printer By Cameron Eittreim on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

I Tend to print many items while at my friends house or work but when I need to print in a hurry, having my own printer really helps. I previously owned a Compaq IJ300 that came with my presario 5700n desktop in 1999, since this is 2007 I figured I would upgrade. The compaq IJ300 was a fine printer at the time but it would continually jam or run out of ink.

My friend said that the HP Deskjet would be a better buy and I have to say it was. The D4160 is a solid performer, the ink consumption on this printer isn't bad since I printed a 100 page magazine for my company and I still had ink left over. This printer also has a economy mode which you can use if you are on a budget and can't afford ink. the color really isn't bad either.

This isn't the smallest printer on the block but it is really good looking, I wish it came in silver but it is only avalable in white. Setup on the deskjet isn't hard, it comes with a installation disk but I just used the USB connection and windows XP installed it. Overall I think this is a great printer if you need to print homework or other items but you don't want to break the bank on a printer.
