Great Phone For Tech Geeks Like Me! By Mia Blaisdell on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

To tell you the truth, even though I am a geek at heart and love tech stuff, I never thought I'd ever own a Blackberry. I was never really impressed with them, that is until I decide to own one. Now I really love it and all the features it has! I got my Blackberry curve as a year or so ago at the price shown with new account activation from Verizon. (Although this version is considerably less now with new accounts) Which the lower price is understandable considering the newer versions that have been released and are in demand now. The Blackberry Curve is really a fantastic broadband smart phone really is packed with tremendous amount of features, which include:

Email & Internet Browser

Media player (video, MP3)

Memory that includes 96MB Flash / 32MB RAM w/ Expandable Memory option utilizing a Micro SD card (up to 8 GB)

Text, picture and Video Messaging and 2.0 MP Camera with Video Capture

Full QWERTY keyboard

Hearing aide compatible (M4/T4) for people who may find this feature useful

In addition to these features there is also the GPS Navigator that I use and is a must have in my book! I have a HHR that has a jack for a MP3 player mounted to the radio and with the cable I purchase, I'm able to start up the GPS, plug it into the radio, and have the turn by turn direction audible over the car speakers. This is a BIG plus! Also, there are other application you can add, some cost, some are free over the internet, so it gives you even more options. Radio, games, browsers like Opera even, and more.Software cd, usb cable are in included for your pc, so you can transfer, back up and add applications, music and more when ever you choose.

I also like the size of the phone, which is about the size of a pack of playing cards. I wasn't sure I would because I was use to using smaller cell phones. Having gotten a lot of use out of this phone, it's actually better in my opinion than the smaller phones. Easier to hold, easier to text and definitely better than another version I've looked at, the Blackberry Pearl.

Over all, this is a genuine tech workhorse that covers so very much, if you give it a try, you will definitely feel you've got your money's worth in this phone.
