I bought this sleeping bag for a recent backpacking trip I did with a few friends in the pacific northwest. As you probably already know it can get very cold and not to mention raining in that region. This sleeping bag did very well against the elements and did a great job of making sure I got a good nights sleep. The bag kept me somewhat warm during some pretty cold nights and was fairly light and compact to carry during the trip. However if you plan on camping in under 45 degree weather you might consider getting a bag more designed for cold weather because you will get cold in this sleeping bag. The size of this bag is a huge plus because I hardly noticed it in my pack which is a tremendous help on long backpacking trips where ever pound in your pack counts. For the price that I paid for this sleeping bag, it far exceeded my expectations. So if you are a backpacker looking to pick up a lightweight bag for some upcoming summer trips I would highly recommend this sleeping bag.
