Great- Until it DIED!
By Jallyson onWe bought this elliptical two years ago, mainly because it was cheap. You get what you pay for, right? Well, we thought we had gotten a deal, because for one year, this elliptical worked fantastic!! Unfortunately, it only lasted one year. After about 10 mos of using it, it started getting very creaky when in use, and at almost exactly 12 months from the date we purchased it, the sleeve split where it is connected with the base. We would need to know a welder to be able to fix it.
Other than that, the features on this elliptical were very impressive. It has varying programs which you can choose that will automatically change the resistance at varying points of a half hour workout, keeping your body on its toes, so to speak. You could change teh display to read steps takin, miles travelled, or calories burned. There was a bar that if you placed both hands over it, gripping so your palms were over the metal plates, it would read your heart rate, to see if you werein your target range. There were ten different resistance levels that were easily changed with the touch of a button. In fact, the display module still works great, and we've never even replaced the batteries!
It's too bad this elliptical didn't last longer, it really was a great piece of equipment up until it broke. It was just a bit flimsy for its purpose, I think.

Sounds great untill it broke, I hate paying alot for fitness equipment I eventually stop using!
Sorry about your elliptical. I purchased a Nordic Track and love mine but I have not had it that long.
Oh goodness-I can't beleive that this broke on you-is it able to be replaced since it has only been a year?
Sounds like a decent machine, too bad it did not have enough durability. Is there a warranty? Can you get it fixed or replaced?
You know, I went ot find out if it had a warranty, and I can't find the paperwork anywhere. My husband throws anything away that can't run from him! LOL
OH I would love to have an elliptical. I am not for working out but when I did have my gym membership that is what I would use. I would rather do it than walk on the treadmill. Sorry it didnt last very long.
Thanks for the info on this machine! I have been wanting one of these, but wasn't sure about the quality!
What a bum deal! Sometimes I think that fitness equipment makers build these things thinking that people won't ever really use them. I would definitely write a letter or email to the company explaining the situation and see if they stand by their product.
That's a shame. Even if the paper warrantly can't be found, wouldn't the company you bought it from have a record of it?
Uh-oh, too bad the machine was not durable. I thought "Image" was a decent brand, I hear their treadmills are good. Perhaps you just got a bad apple. I would suggest writing a letter to the company.
