Greenfield Village, Dearborn Michigan By elkper on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

Greenfield Village in Dearborn Michigan is a great educational travel destination. Henry Ford started the village so people could understand how people from earlier times lived. There is a working farm, printers, glass blower, and potter, among other things. In this section of the village they show how people made these products in the late 1800's or early 1900's. The other section of the village has homes, factories or laboratories that were moved from their original location to Greenfield Village. All of the buildings have guides to answer questions that are dressed in period costumes from that building. You can see where the model T was built, where Thomas Edison invented the light bulb, the Wright brother's lab from North Carolina. You can ride a vintage steam engine or an old model T while you are there. The food choices aren't great, but it is more than made up for with the learning experience in a fun environment. I highly recommend spending the day here if you're in the Detroit Area.

Thanks for informing about the educational values of the village. Greenfield Village in Michigan sounds cool for learning a lot many things, specially that of early civilizations.
