Growing Pet Hatch'em By Snukomes on - Updated Sep 18, 2011
I found this tow at the gift shop at Crackle Barrel Restaurant. My kids love dinasours so when I saw this I knew I had to get it for them. It is an egg that is about the size of a large orange, but shaped like an egg. The direction say to complete submerge it in water and watch it for the next 12 to 72 hours. After about 12 hours the egg starts to crack and continues to crack and break open for the next 72 hours. After about 72 hours the dinasour hatches out of the egg. If you leave the dinasour in the water for the next 2 days it will continue to grow even bigger. My kids and the whole family just loved this. It was so fun checking on it ever few hours and watching it crack and crack and finally hatch and then watch it grow. After it was big enough my kids were able to play with it, and continue to play with it a lot. It was exciting looking at the box and trying to guess and wonder what dinasour would actually be in our egg. I would highly recommend this fun toy for all ages.

What is it made of? foam? Was the toy you ended up with fairly durable? I'm intrigued!
What a great idea. I have never seen this at crackle barrel. Thanks
You know what is really cool and costs very little that I bet your children will love? Take a clear jar with a lid that is wide enough to hold an egg with some space. Put a raw egg into the jar. Cover the egg with vinegar so that the egg is entirely submerged. Cover the jar and put it somewhere where you all can see it easily but not touch it and watch what happens and how quickly it happens... it is pretty cool!
I think you mean Cracker Barrel? Sounds like a neat toy though, something to keep the kids interested for a few days waiting for it to hatch!
My kids had these..and my nephew and it does keep them interested! They waited and waited for it to hatch...
This sounds like loads of fun.. I bet my son would really love it. Thanks
Sounds like a fun toy. It must have been so neat to watch it grow over 72 hours! I love browsing at the Cracker Barrel store - they have a lot of great toys and gadgets for the kids.
This sounds really neat. I could go for it. :)
We have had these in our home and the kids really enjoy the dinosaur.
