Guns N' Roses Cd Use Your Illusion Ii By nightwing on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

This disc has a lot of different styles and sounds to it. I find it to be more deverse than its companion disc, Use Your Illusion I.

Estranged is my favorite song off the disc, and probably my all-time favorite song of theirs. It's another long epic song from them that continually builds and slows down through its long running time. You Could be Mine is a good straightforward rock song, while Pretty Tied Up is a bit more complex and fun.

So Fine is sung by guitarist Duff McKagan, and he does a great job with the song. The bands cover of Knockin' on Heaven's Door is very good, but falls short of being excellent. Other great songs here are Civil War (which had been previously released) and 14 Years.

While this is a good collection of fourteen songs, two of those songs just don't work that well. My World and Get in the Ring both seemed fun and different at the time they were released, but listening to them now they just seem juvenille and amateurish to me.
