Hair Color That Conditions! By JenniferB on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

I have been coloring my hair since I was in my mid twenties and not by choice! My dad grayed early and passed that trait on to all four of us children. I have used many different brands of permanent hair color; some by recommendation and others just because. I have had it colored by hair professionals, but realized that the color didn't last any longer than when I did it myself and it cost so much more! After much trial and error, I can confindently say that Garnier Nutrisse is the best choice for your home hair coloring project! The directions are easy to understand and it comes with gloves to use when applying. You will get a solution bottle, color creme, conditioning oil, and a conditioning rinse to be used right away! I love my hair right after I color it - it is so soft, manageable, and not dry at all! There are many different colors to choose from and it can be found at most drug stores, grocery stores, and discount retailers such as Walmart & Target for between $6-7. I usually find a $2 off coupon in the paper too. The permanent hair color lasts about 6 weeks, but I admit I let it go a little longer. I have found a color that matches mine so well that it is hard to tell when it is growing out except for the gray that appears!

Great price for this!! I think it's fantastic that it lasts you well over six weeks! I've never colored my hair at home-I'm a big ol' chicken! This would be good though for in between salon visits!!!!!!
