Half-Life 2 is one of the greatest genre-defining games to be released. It featured one of most efficient, best looking engine (of that time), the Source engine, and one of the coolest weapons features in a mainstream game, the Gravity Gun.

The gameplay is a standard FPS, with well balanced and well placed enemies. The game flows very well, the atmosphere of the game is very consistent, and the features are fully thought out. The game features segments of levels, and the character is in one world all the time; there are several sections of plot, but overall the game has an incredible movie-like feel to it.

Every aspect of the game is very well thought out. From the implementation of the physics engine (seeing crap blow up and fly everywhere to planning out an ambush by impaling enemies with steel bars), to the resolution of the storyline, it constantly keeps the player in a completely immersive world.

This game is a definite must have.
