Half-Life 2: Episode 1 was Valve's first venture into episodic content. They came up with the idea so that players wouldn't have to wait as long for the next installment of a series. The idea kind of fell short. Episode 1 took too long to be released and when the game finally came out it was only about 4 hours of gameplay. The 4 hours your playing are excellent though. In this episode you're teamed up with Alyx throughout pretty much the whole thing. You get some great character development for Alyx. The combat sections were top-notch and intense. The puzzle sections in the game helped to break up the action and were quite fun. I definitely have to reccomend this game, especially now with the newly released orange box, you can get it packaged with 4 other great games.
