For my daughters recent birthday one of her friends gave her a Hallmark card that features the animated characters Hoops and Yoyo. It is one in a series of cards that Hallmark offers featuring these characters and their friends. I had never seen this line of cards before then and I have to admit, it is really cute.
The outside of the card is printed with a picture of the characters and tells you your birthday gift has been hidden in a secret location. When you open the card, it activates a voice chip inside and the card screams out "you found it!". The voices then continues talking for the next 20 seconds or so swapping witty banter between the two characters.
Each girl at the party had to hold the card, open the card and listen to the card. They all then sat around in a group and opened it several more times. All in all, I would say that the girl who gave her the card, got her money's worth out of it. I was curious to find out more about these cards so I pulled up the web site http://www.hoopsandyoyo.com/ which was listed on the back of the card. Hallmark has a cute little web page dedicated to these characters with links to some of the other designs, gifts featuring the characters for purchase, a gallery, a blog and free E cards you can send. I went back to the site yesterday and sent some of the free animated E cards to my husband for his birthday today. They were easy to send and he enjoyed them.
It's been a long time since I have gone out and purchased cards since I usually make them myself so I was impressed by the technology that is now available inside greeting cards. These were so cute and captured my attention so much that I may actually go purchase one the next time I am in need of a special occasion card and I will use the site again to send more E cards.

I just went and sent a free one of these cards to a friend whose B-day is tomorrow. What fun!

I went and looked at the page. They are adorable! They have really improved upon the old musical cards of the past. I rarely look for cards because as you said, I make mine as well. But I will have to invest in one of these for someone! So glad that your daughter and her friends had fun with it. It's good to know that they have a card out now that doesn't just get thrown aside like kids usually do =-)

That sounds so cute!! I have a dear friend who sends me Hallmark cards for anniversries,birthdays,etc and they are always so neat! They usually sing and make the day that much better! I love them :D I will be checking out this link you provided ;)

These are the ones I look for to send to my daughter. We both love the Hallmark.com site because they are there too! I think they are so cute and they make me laugh...sometimes you can't even understand them except for one word! But if you keep listening to it over and over you will start to understand the whole conversation. They sell these at Walmart. You will find me standing there looking and listening to everyone that is on the shelf! Great product :)
