Halo 2 Soundtrack Is Great Music By DrazenX on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

Having first listened to the soundtrack from the first halo game, I new that the second was going to be even better. Composer Marty O'Donnell is a true genius when it comes to music, and he really shines in this soundtrack. Fans of the original Halo theme, will be excited to know that it makes a revamped return in the Halo 2 Sountrack, with the added touch by guitarist Steve Vai. Halo Theme Mjolnir Mix, is easily the best song in the game. The other songs are also near the same level. Peril, a calming tune, really reminds you of parts of the game itself. Impend is easily the second best with its driving beat and percussion. Songs by Incubus and Hoobastank are also featured on the soundtack, but I feel the Hoobastank song, Connected, was more of a step in the opposite direction. My only problem with the soundtrack is that a few songs play very similar to the Halo 1 soundtrack, but to those who are new to the franchise, they wouldn't notice anything. Either way, the Halo 2 Vol 1 Sountrack blends emotional orchestral compositions with the rock beats and guitar work of Steve Vai and Incubus, to create a unforgettable experience. I recommend this CD to Halo fans and non Halo fans.
