My favorite thing about this can opener, besides the fact that it is red, is that it is an extra tall can opener! It is very difficult with most electric can openers to open items like the larger cans of coffee, tomato juice, dog food and the like, because there isn't room under the cutting mechanism for the can! Not so with the Hamilton Beach 76383. It opens all the above with ease, plus the cutting mechanism detaches for cleaning very easily. You DO clean the cutting mechanism on your can opener, right? No one likes crud to drop into their freshly opened can of whatever, and this model insures that you won't have this problem.

The magnet that holds the can underneath the cutting mechanism seems to be very strong, and opening is clean and efficient. It's a very quiet can opener, and it looks very nice on my kitchen counertop. I am very well pleased with this can opener!
