Hamilton Beach Toaster Oven By Jeanette Dusci on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

I purchased the Hamilton Beach 6 Slice Toaster Oven about two weeks ago when my old one broke.(It was a different brand). I have been extremely disappointed. I cannot get a decent slice of toast out of it to save my life. For some reason, it seems to just dry the bread out but not brown it( great if you want croutons). Or it browns only on the bottom and not on the top. I've followed the directions(placing the rack in top position for making toast) but no luck. This appliance can also bake and broil. I've really only used the baking feature for reheating pizza so far and it works fine for that. Apparently you can even bake a small chicken in it. The product seemed like a good deal for the combination toaster/oven/broiler, but I am seriously thinking about trying to return it to the store where I bought it. The only good thing I can say about it is that there is a crumb tray which easily pulls out so you can keep it clean.
