Handmade Gift for Valentine's Day

I bought these for my mom in 2008 for Valentine's Day. She is a collector of magnets. I remember as a kid, our refrigerator was completely covered with them, to the point of not even being able to see the fridge itself!

I found these to be affordable at $1 each. They are handmade. The seller crocheted them herself. They're made out of worsted weight acrylic yarn. I had 7 colors to choose from including: bright pink, white, red, purple, variegated red and white, light pink, and variegated blue, purple and pink. That's a nice selection. I choose light pink and variegated blue, purple and pink. I like these girly shades. I like the variegated magnet especially, so pretty.

Since these are made by hand, I understand that the size will vary. The light pink magnet is 2" across. The multi-colored magnet measures 1.75" across. One thing that irks me slightly is how these look a bit too round. They resemble hearts, but at times, they don't look like hearts enough. I know that with crochet, it might be hard to get the sharp points needed for the the end of the heart and in between the two peaks at the top of the heart.
