Harmony One Remote

The Harmony One Remote is the newest universal remote from Logitech.I have hear rave reviews of it and actually received one at no charge.I couldn't pass that up.

I have stayed away from universal remotes in the past, because they never seem to be easy to set up.Unfortunately, this was true of this remote as well.I would guess for 90% of people, set up is an easy process.Unfortunately for me, it did not recognize some of my TV settings.I had to spend some time with the tech support people, who were very helpful.

The remote is black in color and has an LCD display screen that is touch sensitive.You can program in all of your components and have it do any function you like.The really nice feature is that you are able to customize buttons and even the order they appear on the remote.You can even upload images to the remote and run slide shows of pictures if you'd like.

The remote has a rechargable battery and it seems to have a decent life to it.I would guess with average use, you'd get a week of battery life between recharges.

Once the time is invested in setting up the remote to learn all the features you need, it is very easy to use and it is nice to be able to operate everything in one remote.The one big disadvantage of this product is its price tag.$250 is a lot of money for a remote control.If I had to pay that price, I would not get it.Hopefully the price of this unit will come down over time.
