Harry Potter And The Chamber Of Secrets By SweetMeg214 on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

Installment number two of the Harry Potter series is probably my least favorite. I can't put my finger on it, but something about a giant snake roaming through the pipes of Hogwarts just seemed too far fetched for me (even for a Harry Potter book.) Also, the back story about Aragog just seemed unnecessary. Maybe I am missing something but I just can't think of how that plays out as important later on in the series. It seems like everything else comes full circle in some way, but I don't see it in his storyline. Also, I thought that later in the series, the fact that Ginny had been inhabitated by Lord Voldemort would play a bigger role, but it never got more than a line or two in a subsequent book. The book itself is ok, as is necessary for the series, I just don't think that it works as well as a stand alone book as others in the series.
