Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows By Jennz By jennz on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

Here it is - the last in the Harry Potter series. What a challenge JK Rowling has to wrap up Harry's story in a way that will leave the reader satisfied and ready to say goodbye. Fortunately she accomplishes that, at least for me. We find Harry, Hermione and Ron in their last year at Hogwarts and Voldemort is still alive. Sadly, Dumbledore is not but he is able to advise Harry. Harry's quest in this final book is to find all of Voldemort's horcruxes - places where he has stored part of his soul. He is now an outlaw, as is anyone who defies Voledemort, so he has to search while remaining hidden from the bounty hunters. Harry must do this quickly since the Dark Lord is growing strong and his followers are now in the open. The story drags a little in the middle but quickly picks up speed again as Harry closes in on the last horcrux. Along the way we find out the truth about Severus Snape - is he good or evil? (Can't tell, you have to read the book, but I can tell you it's not that simple!) and see justice served for the Malfoy family. A few favorite characters are killed but their death adds to the heartwarming ending. This book is not only definitely worth reading but worth adding to your home library to read over and over.

My SIL keeps pestering me to read the whole Harry Potter series, but especially this book. Maybe I should give them a try! Thanks!
