This is the seventh and final installment of the Harry Potter series. In this book, J.K. Rowling defines and explains all the hints and clues in the previous books. The three main characters - Harry, Ron, and Hermoine, all fulfill their roles in the quest.

J.K. Rowling began the series with a core group of (maybe) 9-13 year olds in mind. As her core group got older, her writing grew with them. Each succeeding book became more complex and detailed. While remaining a series for young people, she respected their intelligence and their ability to grow and comprehend more difficult theories and challenges.

While not being at all in the target group, (being a middle aged father), I have come to enjoy the series as much as any youngster.

I began reading Harry Potter because my youngest child discovered the first book and fell in love with it. She was nine or ten years old and I thought I should find out what fascinated her so much.

We both looked forward to each subsequent book in anticipation of where the story would take us. Through the ten year, or so, run of Harry Potter, my daughter has gone from a little girl to a young woman. The reading of these books has given us a common bond, something that has helped to cement a strong relationship.

In conclusion I want to thank J.K Rowling for giving us an epic story of love, respect, friendship, responsibility, and defining ones own destiny. This is not merely a child's story, but a story that can reach anyone at any age.
