Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix By Jennz By jennz on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix is the 5th movie in the series and has a different "feel" to it than the others...it is faster paced and more action packed. Harry, Ron and Hermione are definitely getting older and facing more difficult tasks. I loved this movie! From the beginning I was drawn in to the action. The movie is a little long at 2 hours and 20 minutes but it moves at a good pace. Harry feels alone and is struggling in this installment. His mentor Dumbledore, whom he has always relied on, has pulled away from him. His Godfather Sirius is involved in the Order of the Phoenix, and the Order is keeping Harry at arm's length. Harry feels understandably frustrated - after all he's the one who has fought Voldemort yet he isn't allowed to discuss plans to defeat him. Harry does what he can to help his fellow students and teaches them magical self-defense. There is a lot going on in this movie and the director does a great job showing all of the different sub-plots and tying everything together. I was disappointed that this is rated PG-13. Actually, to be more precise, I was disappointed that the movie was made as PG-13 and my 9 year old can't watch it but I do think that it was necessary to keep up with the growing darkness in the stories as Voldemort becomes more powerful. It remains fairly true to the book, a few parts deviate but the overall story line is true. Overall I give this movie 5 stars - watch it! There are no extra features on this dvd.
