Harry Potter And The Sorcerer's Stone By SweetMeg214 on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

Well ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, this is the one that started the phenomenon! In Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (or the Philosophers Stone if you're in the United Kingdom), we meet Harry, one of the most recognizable figures in recent literary history. We get to learn along with him that he is a wizard, not just a boy who lives under the stairs. We travel with him to Diagon alley where he buys his first wand from Ollivander and gets Hedwig, the beautiful snowy white owl. We see Ron and Hermione stumble upon him on the Hogwarts Express, thus beginning one of the greatest friendships ever written about. And we are there with him as he begins to learn the secrets of his past, including "He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named" or "You Know Who." We get to see Harry learn spells and how to fly a broom. But most importantly, we begin to fall in love with 'the boy who lived.' If you haven't read this book, you are missing out. Go check it out soon, it won't let you down!!!
