Harry Potter And The Sorcerer's Stone Review By Robyn Walker on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

Harry Potter year 1- Sorcerer's Stone

=Plot=

This book starts on Harry's 11th birthday when he learns that he is a wizard and so were his parents. He begins going to Hogwarts for wizard education where he meets his two best friends, Ron and Hermione. Things aren't always as they appear, though, and panic ensues when certain events threaten Harry and Hogwarts, leaving Harry, Ron and Hermione to put the pieces together and solve the mystery.

I loved this movie. It is almost word for word from the book. It stays close to the book. It is a great introduction to the series and has not only an awesome director but also an awesome composer! I recommend this movie highly.

In my opinion, this first movie from the Harry Potter series stays the truest to the books. If you are a literary nut like me you will appreciate this movie. You can almost go line by line in the book while you are watching the movie. Besides that, this movie is great. It is a great introduction to all JK Rowlings lovable characters, and some not so lovable. Professer Severus Snape steals the scenes with his dark figure and mystic persona.

I saw this movie just after reading the book for the first time with my son and we were both enthralled. It felt like we were in the movie. It is such a mystical fun movie for both parents and their children. I really recommend reading the book and then seeing this great movie.
