Hate Those Blackberry Bushes By bcylab on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

We have had a run in with Blackberry bushes this year. The birds tend to eat the blackberries down the road and the seeds are in there poop. So we have a growth of a blackberry bush inour yard. I search for soemthing that would get rid of it and kill it. This product says it provides a complete kill with no regrowth. So I said lets give it a try. So we mixed it up according to the bottles instructions. Used our pump sprayer and sprayed the leaves only. This is what the bottle says to do. You spray the leaves only, when there is no chance of rain and there is no wind blowing. So you saturate the leaves and then let it be. So with in a few hours we saw that the leaves started to turn brown. I was thinking hey this may just work. So within a few weeks the plants have wilted to half their size. The bottle says that in one to six weeks you will see that the leaves will begin to wilt and turn brown and drop off. i have seenthat it has happend. There is no green in any of the plants now and I am ready to rip the rest of it out of the grown. I am amzed on how well this product works and how the bottle's discription is exactly what I saw. It was nice to actually see what was written on a product happen.

We have serious blackberry problems here too. Will keep this in mind next time we spray.

Glad this worked so well for you - I had no idea that blackberries were such a problem! LOL.

Hmmm. a little spray bottle of this for trail clearing might not be a bad idea. Those berry bushes spring up in open places where sun can reach the trail, and they are impossible to keep trimmed back enough.

No as of yet they have not come back and they are completely dead still.

I'm glad this worked so well for you! We have elm trees and their seeds go EVERYWHERE and there are millions of them, and if you don't get them pulled when they're tiny, you end up with a tree by the end of the summer. I've tried everything, and so far nothing has worked. I hate them. I'm glad this worked for your blackberries!

I love Blackberries, just not in my yard with my two young girls getting into them. I just picture our Black Widow problem getting worse if I kept them in my yard.
