Last month, we flew on a direct flight from the mainland to Maui on Hawaiian Airlines. I was very impressed! First of all, a Hawaiian employee greeted us at the check-in kiosk and led us through the process, which was very easy. All our flights were on time and all the employees we encountered were knowledgeable and very polite. On board, there were movies but also short visitor films on Hawaii and Hawaiian Music. I was very surprised to have a meal served as well since most airlines have cut this out long ago. Our chioces were a pasta meal or a sandwich meal. I chose the turkey sandwich and it was very good. It came with chips and a dessert. There were several drink services as well. You may also rent a personal media player for the flight for $15 which is loaded with games, movies and TV shows. The stereo earphones for the onboard entertainment were $5, but a flight attendant told me my ipod earphones would work in one ear and that was good enough for me. I was very impressed with the service. I only wish Hawaiian serviced more airports.
