Hawaiian Steering Wheel Cover
By Kakoa onI have always wanted a Hawaiian steering wheel cover but could never find an authentic looking one. I finally found one at O'Riley Auto Parts and was so excited. I bought one during the early spring and tried to put it on while my husband and I were still in the parking lot. I'm glad I did. Turns out I couldn't get it on.
First, I needed help getting it on. It says it is a quick and easy application, but it's not even close to begin that. My husband and I tried to get it over my standard steering wheel together and still could not do it. The design is made of cloth and it is tightly on the cover. To get the cover on, you have to be able to stretch it over the top of the wheel. We finally just about got it over, and the cloth ripped. We took it back in and tried another one. Same thing happened. So I gave up and was really sad.
I was back in the store during summer and decided to try one more time. This time, we both still had to work the cover on at the same time, but it did go on without ripping. Just barely though. I figured out that if you want to put this on, you have to do it when it's warm out so it can easily stretch.Either way, you are still probably not going to be able to put it on yourself.

Interesting problem. I didn't know some were made of cloth.
This sounds really cute. Sorry to hear you had such a hard luck getting it to fit. I have been looking for a steering wheel cover and I probably will not go for the cloth ones thanks to this. This is something I will keep in mind when getting a cover.
What a bummer that it wouldn't fit easily and without ripping. It's so cute! Back to the drawing board on this one!
Glad it finally worked for you - but a bit of give to it sounds like it'd improve this cover a lot.
My sister-in-law would love this. She does Hawaiian dancing.
