I wanted a new hairstyle for the summer months so I picked up a hair care magazine to browse through. I rarely read the articles in hair care magazines but a particular one caught my attention. It was about a set of twins who are both makeup artists and it listed their clientele. Their clients said that the twins should start their own makeup line and taking that to heart, they did.

Illusions Beauty has been around for a few years and is quickly growing (I think they are growing because I have bought practically everything in their line!). Since I am a medium colored black woman, sometimes it is very hard and discouraging to find a foundation that will perfectly match my face without it looking "ashy" or unnatural. Illusions Beauty caters to the fairest and most porcelain of skins to the deepest darkest mahogany tones so basically every woman on the planet is covered!

I chose the Hazelnut foundation which is not even the darkest shade (that is very rare for me) and this might become a holy grail makeup item for me. The delivery system is very portable as it is in stick form and you just twist up the product. It also has an SPF of 18 which was a huge selling point to me. The foundation can be used as a concealer, foundation, or both but I use it as only my foundation. I am a huge proponent of blending, blending, blending until the cows come home so I apply the foundation on my face but blend it in with a foundation brush. Another problem I have had with foundations is that they tend to break me out but six months later, I have not broken out from this.

I have had my foundation for over six months and wear it about four days a week. This will easily last another six to twelve months for me. It is fragrance free/oil free and can be tucked in a pocket or your makeup bag.
