Health information for the entire family!
By Bosoxy on - Updated Oct 15, 2011Alternative Medicine is one of my two absolute favorite magazines.
Alternative Medicine is chock full of information and fact that everyone can use. The reporting is thoughtful and factual with in depth explanations that are easy to read and understand. The writers have a way of incorporating past information of how the supplement or herb or treatment was used years ago and how we use it today creating a full in depth article without being overly wordy or boring.
Often times the magazine publishes many year round situations along with seasonal issues that may effect those who live in some regions more than others, so there is a well roundedness to the publication that would suit anyone regardless of geographical location.
The stories are not based on one certain age group, or even one certain species! Instead one will find articles that relate from infancy all the way through the many stages of life, although there may be more age neutral articles in one issue than another and not necessarily a specific article for every age in every issue. There is even a section for your pets so the entire family can live more healthily.
As an example, last months issue of Alternative Medicine dealt with things such as dogs fear of thunderstorms, Gilberts syndrome, skin care, circumcision, gardening and irritable bowel syndrome.
One of the best articles that I have read in Alternative Medicine dealt with taking or not taking prescription drugs to deal with bone loss. The article came out at a time when a couple of friends were faced with this issue and I was happy to be able to provide some straight forward information that they could use to speak with their physicians to help decide what is best for them. The title of that article is Bones of Connection and it can be found archived online here: Bones of Connection
I want to add that the Alternative Medicine magazine is for everyone, regardless of ones personal approach to health care. The information contained in the pages of the publication is important and could have a very large impact on your life, or that of your loved ones.
Update On May 02, 2008: This magazine has changed its name to Natural Solutions Magazine.
The article that I mentioned in my review, can be found here.
If this link becomes inactive, please go to http://www.naturalsolutionsmag.com and search for bone loss. The article was printed on 4/1/2007 and is titled "Bones of Contention"

It is amazing how many healthy options are available through alternative medicines. This sounds like a wonderfully informative periodical Bosoxy.
I too love reading about alternative medicine , looks like a very informative magazine there.

I'll definitely have to check this out! Thanks for adding the website info :)
I have read this magazine before at a friend's house. I have been thinking about subscribing to. It does have some great reading material in it and a lot of valuable information. Thanks for sharing the detailed information and the update.
I am an advocate of natural medicine if at all possible. This magazine seems to have a broad range of subject matter and helpful, useful information. Thanks for bringing it to our attention.
Sounds like an interesting mag, especially since it deals with so many different issues (dogs in thuderstorms is an article that would be VERY useful for me). I'll have to check into it - thanks for the update on the name change.
