Heart Of America
By Ally on - Updated Oct 15, 2011I have always stuck to the economy style car. After a horrible accident I had a few years ago I took a hiatis from driving all together. Finally, I felt it was time to overcome my fear and get back on the road again.Living in upstate New York as I do I was leary of what my next veichle would be, due to our horrific winters. Not planning on it I decided to test drive an SUV.I liked the thought of a big vehichle under little ol' me.Well, I fell in love with my Chevrolet Blazer! The vehicle is balanced so that it's weight is spread evenly through the center. It is four wheel drive and has excellent suspension. There is anti-lock breaks, and you can switch gears at the touch of a button. This was a great buy!I finally feel safe on the road thanks to my Chevy Blazer. Helpful hint... I found this vehicle on autotrader.com. I recommend this site and this style of vehicle.
Update On Mar 20, 2010: Although I was pulling out of a drive way and am therefore automatically at fault in NYstate, after the other speeding suv hit us we were still safe from any bodily harm due to a strong vehicular frame.

Sorry to hear about your accident. I tend to go for larger cars too so I'm easier to see. Although sometimes don't think people look. I now drive a mini van and a couple years ago a young girl plowed right into the side of me as I drove by the neighborhood she was leaving. She literally did not see me, no braking or anything...until, bammm. So, even larger cars are not "seen" all the time:0( Thanks for the tip about autotrader:0)
I am so glad you love your checy blazer. we have one as well and find it fabulous. I love the size it makes me feel so safe!
Ahh the good old Blazer. Great lil things! I wish my mom still had hers, but it left us stranded 50 miles from civilization. In Texas heat, that's bad... Be careful out there!
My daughter bought a Trail Blazer and loves it. I have ridden in it with her and love the way it rides. I am really considering getting one. Thanks for the info and the website I am going to check it out.
Good for you for venturing back into the driving world-you can only do that when you're ready to do so! I'm glad that your SUV has helped into your driving transition!
