I have short, flat, lifeless hair that sees a curling iron every morning or I don't leave the house.
I need something to protect my hair from the heat of the curling iron yet give me a nice curl that will hold all day. If I don't use some type of thermal setting product my hair does nothing and if I don't feel like my hair looks good then nothing else does either!
I found this product at Big lots of all places. It is the Rusk Thermal Str8 Protective Flat Iron Spray. Now don't think that since it says flat iron you can't use it with a curling iron. I was using Tresemme Thermal spray but when using this it froze my hair to the point where I couln't get a comb through it to section it off for the curling iron. It stayed damp and my hair would sometimes stay stuck to the curling iron!
This spray from Rusk has it beat hands down. Just the lightest spritz is all you need, it dries instantly for using it with your curling iron and it will leave you with a tight curl. When you are done you can then use a pick and arrange your hair as you like. I've tried Redken products and a host of others and would recommend this over all of them.
This is a 1.8 oz. can which also came with a 4 oz. can of protective shine spray which unfortunately I didn't need but for the price of $2.50 it was a great deal. This little can will last me a month and it's also the legal size for carry-on travel.
If you have hair like mine give this a try and I hope you like it as much as my hair does!
Since I wrote this review Rusk no longer offers this particular product. They have come out with a new design which I was told would do the same thing. I found the newer product made my hair instantly stiff to the point that I could not even put a comb through it to separate my hair before curling it with my curling iron.
I am happy to say that you can still buy the original Rusk Str8 Protective Flat Iron Spray in the yellow can on ebay. Prices are very reasonable and a lot of sellers offer free shipping. I just received my latest order of 4 cans!!

I would like to try this product. My hair is the opposite of yours, howver I straighten mine with a flat iron every day. Lately I have notices that my hair is breaking off and I want that to stop.
I've not heard of this before but it sounds like a pretty decent product, thanks for the information on it.

I am in the same boat you used to be! I even used the treseme and know exactly what you are talking about!!! It seems like all of the similar products have that effect. Too bad I got to read this too late, I am probably going to have to hit up ebay! Thank you!!!
